It is well known fact, due to chemical composition of PET, the life of any material, produced from using PET will also be having a good life cycle. Garments, manufactured from Polyester yarn, normally do not shrink like cotton yarn.
Polyester Yarn, as name suggest, a final product, manufactured after passing PET fibre from different production stages. Now, as Synthetic or polyester yarn is produced from the PET fibre, it’s life will also be long as compared to cotton yarn. Cotton yarn is manufactured using cotton, which is an agriculture-based product and hence it’s life will be less.
Though, cotton can also be replant and make renewable but the problem is, many times it diverts water away from the community. Dry Aral Sea is the result of intensive cotton irrigation.
Here, Polyester does not absorb water, means water consumption is less as compared to cotton and is completely recyclable material. Even, if determined, polyester cloths can also be recycled to extract fibre and other usable material from the garment to reuse the extract fibre to manufacture polyester yarn.
